2 Kings 16-20
What I found most interesting in these chapters was that Hezekiah was going to die because he was sick. But then he prayed and God told Isaiah to go to him and tell him that the LORD was going to let him live for 15 more years.

2 Kings 1-5
God took Elijah to Heaven and do you know what that means boys and girls? Elijah didn't die!!!!!!!! I think that Elijah must have experienced some sort of death but it wasn't from old age or anything natural.

1 Kings 21-22
Ahab wanted his neighbor's vineyard but his neighbor would not give it to him so then Ahab told his wife Jezebel and she told two men to testify against the man and say that he had blasphemed God. The men did this and when the people heard that he had blasphemed God they stoned Ahab's neighbor and Ahab took the vineyard.
1 Kings 16-20
Many of the kings in the chapters did evil in the sight of the LORD so he destroyed them and all of their families and descendants. Most of them were just worshipping idols, and I realize that God has a lot of mercy for us. We make idols every day yet God forgives us even when we don't repent.

1 Kings 11-15
Solomon turned away from the Lord and went after other gods that his wives worshiped, Because Solomon had done this the Lord sent men to harass Israel and Solomon. Then the Lord said that because Solomon had turned away from Him, He was going to take Israel away from his son except for Judah.

2 Samuel 6-10
David brought back the Ark of the covenant here and he was so happy he danced naked in front of God and his servants. And Michal (Saul's daughter) saw him and disposed him. And when they were together she said to David that he shouldn't have shown his female servants his nakedness, but he replied and said "It was the LORD who put me above your father and his household, I will celebrate before the LORD!" And Michal never had children, I'm guessing because God cursed her.

2 Samuel 1-5
It turns out that Saul got a random person to kill him and then that person went to David and told him that Saul and his sons were dead and that he had killed Saul because Saul had told him to. I thought David would have been kind to the man because he had saved Saul from torture, but David has his men execute the person.
1 Samuel 31
This is the end of 1 Samuel and the way it ended was kind of sad. The Israelites were fighting the Philistines but God was not helping them so they lost and all of the Israelites died, Saul killed himself, and then his armor bearer killed himself and the Philistines took all of the Israelites houses.
1 Samuel 26-30
David had to chance to kill Saul in these chapter but he didn't because he knew it was wrong to kill and he trusted that if the LORD wanted him dead that He would kill him however He wanted to and it was not David's place to kill Saul.

1 Samuel 20-25
In these chapter Samuel died which leaves me to wonder, who wrote 2 Samuel? Anyways David was running from Saul in these chapters and some priest was killed too.
Tuesday, November 26, 2013
1 Samuel 16-20
In these chapters there was the story of David and Goliath and how all of the Israelites were afraid of the Giant but how God used a shepherd to defeat the man that every soldier in the camp was afraid of.
Monday, November 25, 2013
1 Samuel 11-15
The wisdom of God used through Saul saved all of the Israelites right eyes. The Israelites were going get all there right eyes gouged out because they thought they couldn't beat there enemies but Saul brought them all together and they beat there enemies.

1 Samuel 1-5
The beginning of Samuel was about a man who had two wives and one of them (Hannah) was barren so the other would mock and torment her so that Hannah would not eat. But then one day Hannah went to the temple and asked God to give a her a son and if he did she would give him to the priest to bring up as a servant to God.

Ruth 1-4
As you can see this book is about Ruth and how she refused to leave Naomi and God blessed her for that by sending Boaz into her life then Boaz married Ruth and took them both into his house and took care of them.
Judges 16-20
Samson burned down the Israelites crops in these chapters and there was the story about Samson and Delilah asking for his secret of strength and betraying him afterward by cutting his hair and turning him over to the Philistines.
Judges 11-15
This book is going by really fast and talking about the Judges of Israel really fast. In these chapters it talked about the Israelites sinning against God again and how Jeptha and Samson were leading them and taking care of them.

Joshua 6-10
God sent his angel to Gideon in these chapters and told Gideon that he was going to defeat the Midionites. Gideon wasn't sure about this because he was the youngest son in his family. But he asked the Angel for a sign and afterwards brought out a goat and some broth that he had prepared himself, and he placed these things on a rock and fire came out of the rock and consumed the meat.

Judges 1-5
These chapters were interesting, cus they talked about the Judges and the hero's of Israel like Shamgar who killed 600 people with an oxgoad. And then Deborah sang a really long song.......and died.
Tuesday, November 12, 2013
Joshua 16-20
In today's chapter they spoke about the Cities of refuge where a man could go if he unintenually killed someone. He would be given a place to stay until he was proven innocent, then he could go back to his home.

Joshua 6-10
The Israelites took over a lot of places in these chapters including Jericho, this is one of the few times that I respected their faith. They had to walk in circles in the heat but they didn't stop, I'm wondering right now how could the Israelites give up and complain with so many things and when the hardest comes around they finally have faith?

Joshua 1-5
These chapters were very interesting compared to Deuteronomy, anyways Joshua sent two spies to seek out the land. And when the king of the land was looking for them and Rahab hid them on top of her roof and did not let anyone know they were there. Rahab was spared because she did this and probably went to Heaven.

Deuteronomy 31-34
In these chapters Joshua was chosen by God to lead the Israelites across the Jordan into the Promised Land. I've heard that Moses wrote the first five books of the bible......How did he record his death then? Haha, anyways we finished with Deuteronomy, (that was a hard book) I was glad to get out of that.

Deuteronomy 25-30
In these chapters the Israelites were coming to the end of their forty years and God was about to let them into the promise land. He also gave them some more laws to obey, and renewed some of his old ones. He told them that if they were faithful he would bless them, but if they disobeyed him and strayed from the truth he would wipe them out and stuff like that.

Deuteronomy 20-25
Here was some more laws about random stuff, no really the bible I was reading said "Miscellaneous Laws" There were some laws about violating marriages and stoning people who had violated other people's marriages.

Deuteronomy 11-15
Oh man, I can't wait to get out of Deuteronomy. It's a ton of the same stuff over and over again, I totally understand why God told these people so many times cause they were pretty stupid. Thank God that I wasn't in there place right now.

Deuteronomy 6-10
Today's reading was about the Israelites and Achan, how he took money even though God told him not to. And he was killed because of his disobedience.
Friday, October 25, 2013
Deuteronomy 16-20
There were more commands from God in these chapters and rules about how to live, some of them I disagree with but God is perfect and even if I disagree with them I still trust God and know that he knows what's best. We should always trust God even if that means doing something we don't want to, or we don't think is the best way.

Deuteronomy
In the beginning of these chapters God reminded them that they were still under his control and that he would discipline them just as he had disciplined their fathers. Our relationship with God is love on his part and obedience on ours, we can't just say "Jesus did everything let me go back to my old life" no, we need to read the bible and try to obey him.

Numbers 31-35
Today's reading was about the Israelites when God told them to kill the Midionites. God blesses the people who obey him and this time the Israelites did obey him and God blessed them through their obedience. Moral of the story, trust and obey God and you will live a long fruitful life.......in Heaven.

Numbers 26-30
When the women came to Moses and asked him for their father's possessions I thought that God would be angry with them, again I was wrong. God made all of these decisions because he was shaping and molding his people into what he wanted them to be. God has no faults therefore not only does He do everything perfect, but he makes the perfect choices. Don't ever think you can make a better decision than God.

Numbers 21-25
The Israelites spoke against God and Moses AGAIN, in these chapters. I'm really starting to hate them now. Anyways, this time God used poisonous snakes to kill them but he saved the ones that had faith that God would heal them.

Numbers 16-20
God destroyed everyone who apposed him in these chapters, he did it as a punishment and a warning to others not to question Moses and his authority.
God says in these verses that all authority comes from Heaven therefore we need to obey that authority.
Romans 13:1-7
New International Version (NIV)
Submission to Governing Authorities
13 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. 4 For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.
6 This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. 7 Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.God says in these verses that all authority comes from Heaven therefore we need to obey that authority.

Numbers 10-15
God gives people everything they need, yet they still distrust Him complain that He doesn't take care if them. This is what happened in these chapters the people were complaining to Moses that they didn't have any food yet God gave them the quail. Sometimes I just hate the human race because of all the sin and foolishness in it, but I am human, I am sinful and foolish and I'm just being proud when I think that stuff.
Numbers 4-9
God separated the Levites from the other tribes of Israel because God wanted the Levites to be more Holy and He wanted them to be his priests and stuff like that. I'm guessing that in the following chapters we will find that the Levites will be more faithful than the other tribes.

Leviticus 26-Numbers 3
When God told Moses to take a census I was immediately glad I wasn't him right there. I did some research and I found that even though the Israelites were in Egypt for only 430 they had been so fruitful that in those years they had grown their people until there were more than 603,000 people. God had really blessed them a lot.

Leviticus 21-25
The bible in these chapters talked about a man who got angry and blasphemed God and took His Name in vain. And God ordered he people to kill that man. And in these days now people take the Lord's Name in vain everyday. I am so blessed to be a Christian and not have to stand before God and be judged for blaspheming His name.

Leviticus 16-20
Today was how God was changing things that the Israelites had been doing in the past like how he wanted all the people who were sacrificing in the wilderness to take the sacrifice to the priests instead. And he made some other laws clear. There was a lot more stuff about how not to curse your parents or else you would be put to death. Sometimes I wonder why God repeats stuff so much, but then I remember that even though God repeated all his rules a lot the people still didn't obey him.

Leviticus 11-15
Pretty much in all of these it was talking about things that God considered unclean and unholy. And since God is perfect these things that the bible was talking about are unclean. But because Jesus came we don't have to stay away from these things or people, now our goal is to help these people because Jesus came to help us when we were unclean.

Leviticus 6-10
Today when I read that Aaron was put in one of the most important positions even after he had made the gold calf and told people to worship it I was kind of angry. But then I remembered how many times God has given me second chances and forgiven me for tons of evil things I've done. God put Aaron there because he wanted to and because he was going to use Aaron to do what He wanted.

Leviticus 1-5
Today's reading was about everything God wanted the Israelites to do when they were giving offerings and stuff. God wanted everything to be how he liked it, because they were his people and they wanted to know God. He didn't show himself to them because they would have died but he did show them a lot about his view of Justice and Fairness.

Exodus 31-35
Today I realized that Moses actually was a very special person, I know he wasn't the best and I don't believe anything like the Jews do but I did read that Moses was the only person that actually ever saw God, at least I think he was. But after Moses saw God his face was radiant the bible says. People were scared of him because he face was bright. God is truly amazing!

Exodus 21-30
Today when I read these chapters I was wondering why God wanted all these people to give him things and do stuff for him. But I remembered how I feel when God takes something from me. It reminds me of how much I have right now and what I had before that I never realized. I think that God was making them do all this stuff so that they would learn to appreciate what they had, and to count their blessings. Always remember, everything has a purpose so when you get something taken away from you just remember that God is going to use it to help you.

Exodus 15-20
Today when I learned that when the Israelites grumbled it was a big deal, but we grumble every day? God has a lot of mercy. The Israelites got mad at Moses because they didn't think they would get water. But God gave it to them, and they even got bread and meat from God but they still didn't trust God. But we do this everyday and don't even think about how God feels when he hears us grumble. Lately I have been feeling angry and discontent about my situations. But the other day my pride broke and I realized I had been living more for myself than for God. I turned my life over to Jesus and told him that I was just going to live for him and let him rule over my life. Since then I've been much happier and the stress and everything that I had been discontent about doesn't matter anymore.

Exodus 11-15
I was wondering why God would harden someone's heart, but then I realized this is God's world. He made it, he made us everything belongs to him. God hardened Pharaoh's heart so that God would get the glory he deserves. Sometimes I wonder why God doesn't show himself to people anymore. But then I remember how fickle people are, and that if they saw a sign from God there is a good chance that they would start believing in something like Demons.
Tuesday, September 24, 2013
Exodus 6-10
I can't believe how many times Pharaoh said he was going to let the Hebrews go and then went back on his word. But what I found amazing is that God actually said that he had created Pharaoh so that his power would be shown through him. I never knew that God actually told people that. And how God still protected his people even though the Egyptians were living right next to them.

Genesis 45- Exodus 5
Today I was reminded how God blesses the people that serve and obey him with long life. I also realize now that the Lord wants us to stay on earth longer so that we can bring more people to him. I used to wish (and sometimes I still do) that Jesus would just let me go to Heaven right now, but that isn't Gods plan for us right now. That is why Jesus gave us the great commission.

Genesis 40-41
Stay faithful and God will bless you, that is the moral of Joseph's life. In this story Joseph didn't sin that the bible showed us. Joseph is a great role model, he trusted God and he even almost pretty much lost his life and trusted God far longer than I would have been able to. If you want an example of a follower of God read Genesis 38 through 45 I think.

Genesis 36-40
Today I learned that even when people trick us and lie to hurt us that we should always think of Joseph. He was betrayed by his own brothers and sold as a slave, but he stayed faithful to God and God blessed him. And most days won't go as we want them to so we need to get used to picking ourselves up after we've been knocked down.
"The world is not all sunshine and rainbows, is a very mean, nasty place. And I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. Me, you or nobody is going to hit as hard as life, but it ain't about how hard you hit, it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. About how much you can take and keep moving forward."

Genesis 31-35
Today I found out more of how much a weasel Jacob was, he took Laban's daughters and grandsons, and grandaughters and God still blessed him. And Laban didn't hurt him at all, God is so good and perfect and wise. I am so glad I am not him, I would have just done whatever I wanted and not what was right and just.

Genesis 25-30
Today I learned about how much a weasel Jacob was, he stole his brothers birthright and his blessing and God still had mercy and blessed Jacob. And when I first read this I thought that God had made the wrong decision, but God doesn't make wrong decisions. He can't, he's the Perfect Holy God. We will never understand God perfectly unless he allows us to, but for now we need to be content with what he's given us and trust him to do what is right.

Genesis 20-25
Today when I read these chapters I was shocked because of Abraham's faith, he was ready to sacrifice his own son to God. Without hesitation, without fear or anger or sorrow. He was totally ready to do whatever God wanted him to, and God rewarded him for this. This is how we need to be, if God calls us to do something we need to do it immediately and without sorrow.
Thursday, September 12, 2013
Genesis 15-20
Today I was reminded of how much patience God has with us. Three times God told Abraham that Sarah would have a son and they both didn't believe him. God saved Lot's life and Lot still lingered in Sodom. Abraham asked God to spare Sodom if there were 45 people who we righteous, then 40, then 35, then 30, and so on and God listened to Abraham twice as long as I would have. And we sin everyday and turn our backs on God but he continues to love and care for us. Jesus died for us, for worms like me. In the hymn "Alas and did my Savior bleed" the second verse is...."Would He devote that sacred head for a worm such as I?"

Genesis 10-15
Today I learned that no matter how many people we have and no matter how strong we are God will always be stronger. No matter how hard we fight or how fast we run, God will always be in control. Even when all the people on the earth were helping each other and were making a tower God knew the best way to make them stop without hurting anybody. It is so much better just to trust God and give him our lives, then to fight and lose because we WILL lose!

Genesis 1-10
Today I was reminded that God created Man to live on earth forever in peace and to enjoy life together. Even after we sinned God let men live long lives, even up to 950 years so that they could remember what happened at the beginning of the world and tell their children and grandchildren and generations to come. God is awesome, he thought of everything we needed he even knew what he would have to do to create a rainbow! Can any of us humans take the place of God? Never, even after billions of years we could not do the things God has done. And judging by how the world is right now we wouldn't last long on our own.

The Sign of the Son of Man
Jesus told his Disciples that he was coming back but they didn't understand completely. One of them even thought that Jesus was coming back while he was still alive. Jesus is coming back with all the Glory he deserves, and nothing less. And when Jesus comes back, all of us Christians are going with him. But most of the people on the earth aren't Christians and won't come with us, we need to pray for these people fervently because no one besides God cares for them as much as we should.

The Purpose of Trials
Trials come to test the strength of out faith. God allows trials in our lives because sometimes we turn away from him and look to worldly things for pleasure. But God needs to be our ultimate pleasure, he needs to be all we need. When a trial comes into your life and you blow up or get angry it just shows you how week your faith is. We can do anything, survive anything through Christ who strengthens me, you can do this too!

Jesus Loves the Children
Jesus loves everyone, no matter what he/she does. Jesus especially loves children, because sometimes they are so innocent, so simple, so willing to believe anything. We need to be like Children, ready to do what they're told, ready to believe. Sometimes things are so simple we overlook them but that is the Gospel, the Gospel is simple if you think about it. I learned this when I was a lot younger....."Jesus saves sinners" That is the Gospel in three words and that is all we really need to know.

The Savior and the Scribes
When the scribes and Pharisees asked Jesus from who's authority was he allowed to do these things, Jesus answered, "Was the baptism from John from Heaven? Or from men?" And they didn't answer the question because they were afraid of the people listening. And they said "We do not know" so Jesus told them, "Neither will I tell you from who's authority I do these things." Jesus was teaching them us the whole time he was hear and we didn't listen to him. We were amazed by his works and miracles, but we did not believe what he said! And we still do it, God is teaching us everyday and sometimes we don't understand it so we discard it as unimportant. We forget what we are supposed to do and allow ourselves to be distracted. Do you think God likes that? The first commandment is "Thou shalt have no other Gods before me" So simple..... anything that you think about more than God is an idol and we need to remove it immediately.

Principles of New Life
I've been listening to sermons by John MacArthur and he is what I've been learning these things from. Today he talked about what Christians are doing when they convert, they take off the old and put on the new. They need to change their whole lifestyle and focus their entire life on Jesus. Their lives need to totally change, you should be able to see a dramatic change in that person. I say this with great shame, but before I became a Christian I would go around the house hitting my sisters for no good reason! After I became a Christian all of that changed praise the Lord, and look at me now!

The Glimpse
Today I got a glimpse of how perfect Jesus was, and is. People like the Pharisees and Sadducees even tried to trick him and make him sin, but even through all this he still didn't sin. Jesus is so wise and powerful that whatever his plan is, it will happen and nothing on Earth, Heaven or Hell can change it. And you are part of his plan, he has planned you reading this and me typing it. The bible says that we should always rejoice even if we're about to die or be in a lot of pain, because soon, we will be with him!

The King Confronts Corruption
Today I was reminded of when Jesus went into the Temple and found the people selling animals inside our Father's House. And he was the only one who confronted this sin. Nobody else dared to attack all these people and drive them out. There were probably many people there because it was like a market place. Do we have enough courage to do this? Do you? Would you be willing to attack a lot of people who enjoyed what they were doing and make them stop? It's easy to say right now when you're in you house and safe that you would do anything for God. But I have to say I don't think I can do it. If you are like me a coward, all we can do is ask God to give us the strength and courage to obey and protect him.

Living in the Light
What should the characteristics of Christians be? Goodness, Righteousness, and Truth. These are the things that Christians take on when they truly believe in Jesus. These are gifts from God to his children. Have you ever thought about how you are God's son/daughter? And God is your Father? Is this amazing or what? Do you ever wonder if someone is a Christian? Of course you do, or you should. The way to find out is by the fruit that had come after the person said they had become a Christian.

What do we have?
Today I learned that God gives us so much and we take almost all of it for granted. How many times have to thanked the Lord today? Yesterday? It's like we are all misers saving up our money for nothing! You are breathing right now!!! Except Zach, he was accidentally miliscisly destroyed. You should be like me and create a blog like this!!! Living for Jesus isn't just witnessing to people who aren't Christian it's only most of it. Some people don't even know that another part of living for Jesus is encouraging other Christians and being a good example. We have a chance to change our generation, we should take that chance!

First Post
Well guys this is my first post on this thing, try not to be to critical of me. Feel free to comment but no sass Zach! I'm going to talk about the wonders of Christ I feel everyday. I know most of the time these things fail and this one probably will too. It'll also be about what I'm doing throughout the day. Please don't share this blog with anyone because there are some people I might not want to know about it. Oh and remember if you sass me Zach I can delete it. Who has the power now?
